About the artists
Sandra Johnston
Sandra Johnston is an artist from Northern Ireland working in the areas of site-responsive performance actions, drawing and video installations. The performance works are developed from close observation of specific situations, gathering various perceptions of: space, light, incident and especially relationships to others. Within these encounters the artist often experiences an internal nervous response of activating lost memories. Incrementally, the actions become a synthesis between these internal fragments and the poetry existing covertly in the seemingly mundane aspects of environments. Each work is made as an open experiment in the possibilities of creating contemplative space and ways of searching for clarity in the present moment.
MA-A Trio
MA-A TRIO’s modern primal music consists of trios own compositions and improvisation in thematic structures. Archaic elements meet modern soundscapes. Our music’s universal language melts different influences in existing music and gives new approaches to music and performing.
The name MA-A describes trio’s music and philosophy: “maa” is the Finnish word for earth whereas “ma” in Japanese means the meaningful empty space as a content and essence in things and moments; for example the essence of a vessel is in its emptiness, the dramatic meaning of speech is in pause in between the words, the power of music is in between the sounds.
Jone Takamäki, wind instruments www.myspace.com/jonetakamaki
Lauri Hyvärinen, guitars, objects

Lora Dimova
Lora Dimova is a being, manifesting different forms of materialization – from human to non-human. Her most recent goal is to find the center of gravity.
