HOPP (15min)
In Swedish, the word "Hopp" signifies the act of jumping - as well as a feeling of hope. Hiroko turns this wordplay into performance art, inventing her own game of skipping rope. Playful in the beginning, painful at the end...

Credo: Reality never grows older - only its records. Individuality is a phantom power, which guarantee the rights for the future. It does not exist, but it can be expressed, it can be renamed and thus - transformed. By expressing an individuality we guarantee its future.

During his career as an artist Erik Wijkström has built annoying machines, megalomanic sculptures of mastodont proportions, conceived man-to-truck transaltion devices, developed tools for randomized artistic production, programmed boring computer games, posed as a model for the menswear chain "Dressman", erected portable observation towers, laid out curtains of smoke from suitcases, acted as an escape artist, investigated gravity, dug out personal islands, made waffles, camped out through performance art festivals and popped popcorn in industrial quantities.
Erik Wijkström holds a Master of fine arts degree from the Royal institute of art in Stockholm 2006. Lives and works in Stockholm. Part of the organizing team for PALS festival in Stockholm.
Dorinel Marc was born in Bontaieni, Romania, 1964. He came to Sweden, as a political refugee, 1987. Marc believes in the role of art within society and its ability and responsibility to contribute to the process of creating a better world for all creatures inclusively artificial intelligence.
In a large perspective of time, Marc hopes that, if art will not be able to save this world, it will at least contribute to recreate the life itself on the next level.
Imagine that Jesus had been able to proof-read The New Testament before it was issued in his name!
Jesus was, according to some sources, more or less vegetarian. It is particularly regrettable that Christians celebrate his birthday (Christmas) with pig slaughter and his death and resurrection (Easter) with lamb slaughter.
During Fake Finns / Wannabe Sweds Festival 5 to 6 April 2013, at Gallery Augusta, Suomenlinna, Marc will link to Easter and in conjunction with his presentation / appearance, he will offer all visitors the opportunity to taste the blood of Jesus and meat, as well as the possibility to be involved in painting a common painting using artist's blood.
Marc will hopefully also manage to bring a special guest to the event and to talk about loving our neighbor .

"I concider Performance as an opportunity to express myself by means of creating images and live actions with my body. –to deal with basic issues of live, by exploring behavior, testing limits and asking questions.
The most importenst aspect is the encounter and the exchange between the people – and the possibility to initiate thinking processes and open the mind.
In my performances I deal among other things with thems like deprivation, death, altruism and confidence.
The actions and materials often have a symbolic character. In my performances I’m. establishing an relation between my body, material and other people. I also like to involve the audience in the performance, so that they become an active part in it."

Hyun-Joo Min is an artist originating from Korea, living in Finland. Excerpt on Hyun-Joo Min's work by Johannes Meinhardt: In her work Hyun Joo Min is interested especially in the independent or even autonomous reality of the body which the consciousness in nearly all cases ignores, and which evades the consciousness by its becoming classified to be unimportant and insignificant. Everything which touches the sensual und libidinous body enters into a relation which has nothing to do with recognizing or comprehending; it enters into an affective and libidinous relation which draws the borders of the body anew again and again.

Maurice Blok: In a manner of biography
Whilst concentrating on sculpting, during my studies, I realized that what occurred before the work was even presented was of as much importance to me as the final piece itself. Subsequently, I started carrying out short experiments in front of a video camera; something that soon became close to what is called performance art. Soon after my work evolved into actual performances, involving setting up and carrying out "actions" that bear aesthetic results in front of physical audiences.
Having worked physically, and using tools, on an object (as a sculptor) it was only natural to bring this to my action pieces too. Although my work is performative I still consider myself remaining with a sculptural attitude . Constructing and deconstructing whilst having some kind of interaction with audience (or not). Naturally, one’s performance art is ordered in a chronological manner, yet the viewer is not aware of this while encountering a performance.
The works I do are often not titled. A name can draw the attention away from what the piece is (or maybe could be) – just itself.

Lovisa Johansson, born 1969, is a performance artist based in Stockholm, Sweden. She has been working and exhibiting as an interdisciplinary artist since the beginning of the 90s. Existential themes recur - loneliness, love, birth, death. Lovisa is interested in the interdependence of human beings, and how she, as an artist, can bend the boundaries of normality and thus make our mutual mental space grow. Her work also has a formally structured side, where matter in action elaborates rhythmical patterns. Johansson's most important collaborator is Wenche Tankred, with whom she forms the WOL performance duo. She is also one of the organizers behind PALS - performance art links, an international festival for performance art in Stockholm.
